Reserve Your StayWhen Washingtonians search for cabins near Washington, DC, they’re usually looking for the same things: a drive short enough for a weekend, a setting quiet enough to actually rest, and a stay that feels considered rather than ordinary. Sky Mountain Retreat was built around all three.
Set on 24 private acres in the mountains above Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, the retreat is roughly 2 hours from downtown DC depending on traffic — close enough to leave after work on Friday and wake Saturday to sunrise over the Appalachian ridges.
Each of our seven stays includes a private hot tub, mountain or woodland views, and the kind of quiet that’s hard to find closer to the city. Berkeley Springs — America’s first spa town — is minutes away when you want restaurants, mineral baths, and small-town exploring.

Why Berkeley Springs
Berkeley Springs has drawn visitors since before the country had a name — George Washington bathed in its warm mineral springs, and the town still carries that unhurried, restorative character. Downtown offers locally owned restaurants, galleries, antique shops, and the historic springs at the center of Berkeley Springs State Park.
Cacapon Resort State Park is about 7 minutes from the retreat, with hiking trails, overlooks, and a lake. Back on the mountain, evenings belong to the fire pit, the hot tub, and a sky dark enough for real stargazing.
Minimum stays vary by home: two nights for our two-person stays and three nights for The Chalet. Every reservation is direct with the family who built the retreat — no call centers, no middlemen.
